Sooner Celebration Sale at Chupp Farms 132 Total Animals Sold Chupps Farm in Inola, Oklahoma, was the place to be for Guernsey enthusiasts on Wednesday, June 15. Perfect summer weather and a huge crowd added to the excitement of one of the best herds to be dispersed in years. The entire herd, except for Chupps Farm Goldstar Dazzle and her dam, were sold. The average of $2,405 came on 127 females. Five service bulls were also sold. Topping this impressive offering was Marshdene Magic Mary, EX-91, the All-American Four-Year-Old in 2004. This framey Magicman daughter is backed by three Excellent dams in Canada and was fresh just six days. Mary looked ready to repeat her tanbark campaign in 2005. Bidding was fast and furious past $10,000, before she was finally struck off for $14,100 to the partnership of Steve Nuttleman, Bob Hart and Alan Dykshorn of Wisconsin and Iowa. She was sold by Chupp Farms and Richard Green. The 2004 Reserve All-American Jr. Three-Year-Old was next through the ring and sold for $10,000 to John and Bonnie Ayars and Sons and Dr. Kenny Manion of Mechanicsburg, Ohio. Scored EX-90, she sold due in October and projected to make 21,000M this year. The third high seller of this impressive group was Maplehurst Valiant Katina, VG-87. A Valiant from a VG-86 Maplehurst Opportunity daughter, Katina sold fresh in February and due back to Perfecto. She was the 4th place four-year-old at Louisville in 2003 and is ready for a return trip to the National Shows. She was purchased by Steve and Randy Sievert and Deb Lakey of Wisconsin, for $8,250. The sale was called by Steve Massey of Texas. Robert Yeoman and Blaine Crosser shared pedigree duties. Jon Lantz and Bob Griggs took bids. Many of the cattle were tied up and on display all week. They were prepared by Mike Hickman, Evan Creek, Delbert Yoder, On The Go Joe and Brian Baird. Chupps Auction Co. and Guernsey Marketing Service managed the sale. Lot 1 & 2 - The Tanbark Veterans!
