Purchased by a Syndicate and Golden State Breeders of Escalon, California, The Pie sold for $18,000. His dam is Indian Acres MM Pistachio Pie, EX-94, named Supreme Champion of World Dairy Expo just two days after the sale. Pistachio Pie has over 20,000M with 4.5% fat test while the next dam was a VG-87 Fayette, followed by an EX-91 Frank, both All-American nominees. The Pie was consigned by Ashley Sears of South Deerfield, Massachusetts, with a portion of the proceeds going to the AGA Promotion Fund. The high-selling live animal was a late addition to the sale, Bla Arl Prettylady Lewis Pixie, the Reserve Junior Champion of the NGS-Madison. Purchased in the spring by AGA Junior Member Logan Derickson of Middletown, Delaware, she sold to Mary Franz of Northfield, Minnesota, another Junior Member and first-time Guernsey buyer for $6,200. Pixie's pedigree matches her beauty as her dam was a Jr. All-American nominated Lancelot sister to popular AI Sire Bla Arl Royal Oak Turley. The granddam was a VG-87 Valor daughter with 29,000M. Rounding out the top sellers was Up The Creek Mentor Yes, a Fall Yearling due in March. She was consigned by Kevin Anderson of LEster Prairie, Minnesota, and purchased for $4,500 by Abbie Jo and John Larsen Jr. of Mantorville, Minnestoa. She is a Mentor daughter from a VG-88 Trumpet with over 20,000M and Jr. All-American accolades to her credit. The EX-91 granddam was Reserve All-American in 1997. The sale was managed by Guernsey Marketing Service. Stanley Chupp called the sale while Blaine Crosser made announcements. Bob Griggs, Dale Chupp and Jon Lantz took bids. Cattle were presented by Austin Knapp, Conner Parker, Logan Derickson and Lindsey Rucks. Katie Henson clerked the sale while Hannah Iverson, Marlys Weaver and Sandra Kirchner passed slips.
