![]() 2006 Ozark Jubilee Sale
Once again Guernsey breeders assembled in historic Branson, Missouri for the 8th Ozark Jubilee Sale on May 13, 2006. Over the years, this sale has produced numerous All-Americans in addition to an endless list of show winners throughout the country. This year some outstanding cows and bred heifers, along with the customary lineup of show aged calves helped comprise the 67 live females that went through the sale ring. 67 Registered Guernsey females averaged $2,424. Sixteen embryos sold in four lots averaged $450 each and two breeding aged bulls sold for an average of $2150. 37 open heifers averaged $2,136, 2 Guernsey Gold heifers averaged $2,975, 14 bred heifers averaged $2,800 and 14 cows averaged $2,729. Cattle and embryos sold to fifteen states including: Wisconsin, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, California, Michigan, New York, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, South Carolina, Indiana, and Kentucky. Topping the sale at $5,500 was a tall, stylish December calf sired by Myown Magic Poker. Knapps Poker Margarita was consigned by Randy Knapp and Family of Epworth, Iowa and was purchased by Paige Chupp of Inola, Oklahoma. Frank and Patti Faria bought the second high seller of the day for $4,600. Marts Pride Pokers Karen is a Senior Three-Year Old just ready to go dry, coming with her second calf. She is very strong, wide, and powerful with a fancy udder. She was consigned by Keith Brinkmeier of Pearl City, Illinois. The sale was managed by Oklahoma GBA and Missouri GBA. Stanley Chupp called the sale while Robert Yeoman read pedigrees. Dale Chupp, Bobby Griggs, and Dave Cochard took bids. Maria Chupp, Cindy Chupp and Vickie Brown clerked the sale.
