Young sire daughters! For those of you thinking to yourselves, “we have nothing new on the A.I. active list,” brace yourselves because there are some really nice young sires coming through. First of all, hats off to the Wisconsin breeders for their dedicated use of Guernsey young sires! Never in my travels have I been able to inspect such a large number of daughters from our sires-in-waiting as I did in my recent tour through the great state of Wisconsin. I hope that more breeders will follow their lead.

What’s new and hot—Royalty, Royal Crown, Super Lux, Spider, Neon, Challenge, Prestige, Legend, and Deemand all currently have their first daughters milking and they’re looking great.

The Luxury sons, Super Lux, Spider, Neon, and Legend are all following very closely in the pattern of their sire. They’re equipped with signature Luxury udders—shallow, with high rear udders and tight fore udders. They tend to be below average for udder crease and they also need protection for strength.

As most of you have heard, this will be my final “journey” with AGA. I have been presented with an opportunity to join the sire acquisition team at Excalibur Sires, only three hours from my home, in Rochester, Minn.

It has been my sincerest pleasure to work with you over the past year or so. Guernseys have certainly left an indelible mark on my life and I’ll never forget the experiences I’ve had with Guernseys and you, their breeders! My family and I have had the pleasure of working with our first Guernsey this past year, and we look forward to working with more in the future.

Best wishes to you and Guernsey cow! If I can be of any assistance to you in the future, please contact me at jmorris@uwalumni.com or at the office (507) 282-7451.
