Fall For Colors ET Sale II

October 25, 2008

Cross Plains, Wisconsin

All Breed Sale Details & Full Catalog

16 exciting lots of Guernseys combined to average $4,690 on October 25 in the Fall For Colors II ET Sale. An all-breed sale, the Guernsey group averaged $100 less than the Brown Swiss yet easily outpaced the Jerseys, Red & Whites and Milking Shorthorns in the sale. The sale was managed by Modern Associates of Ohio and was hosted by City Slickers Farm, Mike and Linda Hellenbrand of Cross Plains, Wisconsin.

The top seller was Pine Drive Aaron Dazzle, a VG-88 first-crop Aaron daughter due in December. She made over 18,000M and 850F as a two-year-old and is backed by an EX-91 Sharp dam with over 30,000M and 1,250F. The dam was nominated All-American Aged Cow in 2004. Dazzle's three closest dams are all scored EX-91 and have over 100,000M lifetime. She was consigned by AGA Junior Member Brandon Grewe of Cumberland, Wisconsin, and purchased for $15,000 by Lauren and Cara Woloohojian of West Greenwich, Rhode Island.

The Woloohojian family also purchased the second high seller of the sale, Four Winds Tiller Dame. Dame stood fourth in an outstanding Jr. 2-Year-Old class at World Dairy Expo and is carrying a heifer calf sired by Valiant Royal. Her dam, by Magicman, is scored EX-92 and was nominated All-American Aged Cow in 2006. The next dam is the world-famous Tom Dee, EX-96. Tom Dee has 12 Excellent daughters, won Madison four years in a row and has had a daughter and granddaughter win Madison as well. Dame was consigned by Clark & Joy Vilter of Hartland, Wisconsin, and sold for $10,500.

Commanding the top price from the impressive group of ET calves sold by the sale hosts was a Trotacre Loral Tiller-ET daughter of Marshdene Magic Mary born in June 2008. This exceptionally wide calf sold to Adams Creek Farm of Bangor, Wisconsin for $7,500. Her dam is EX-94 and has a top record 25,380M 5.6% 1,430F 3.5% 880P and over 100,000M lifetime. She stood third in the Aged Cow class at Madison this year, assuring her of a fifth consecutive All-American nomination, beginning as a Four-Year-Old, a year in which she was All-American.
