Fall For Colors ET Sale III October 30, 2010 Cross Plains, Wisconsin The 3rd Edition of the Fall For Colors Sale averaged $3,694 on 16 females, making it the second highest averaging breed in the sale. The Guernseys have been the second high averaging breed in all three Fall For Colors sales. The tops seller was a choice from 3 American Pie heifers due in March from Cedar Fringed Altann, EX-95. The buyer was The Roedl Family of Edgewood, Illinois, with Warwick Manor and Walnut Corner Farm contending. Lot 36 - $7600 - Roedl Family, Edgewood, IL Mike & Linda Hellenbrand and their partners have produced some of the most sought after Guernseys in the country. They have developed and exhibited a Junior Champion and Res. Junior Champion at Madison and have had many All-American nominees in just a few short years. An animal that started her life at City Slickers Farm placed in the top 7 in each of the first 8 classes at the recent International Guernsey Show in Madison. You will have the opportunity to purchase several of these special individuals on Oct. 30. The final medal count for the day included 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 2 6th, 2 7th, 8th. and Res. Jr. Champion. Many other family members of the heifers selling also placed well, including 4 class winners. For your convenience, the show-aged heifers have already been entered at Louisville.
After a rough week in the midwest, sale day turned out to be perfect.
The various breeds in the recipient herd are always fun to see.
The sale ring was decorated and ready to go on Saturday morning.

Stan Chupp took the gavel and Seth Johnson read pedigrees when the 17 Guernsey lots sold in the middle of the sale. Lee Barber and Dale Chupp are taking bids.
The high selling live lot at $5200 was Chupps Hillpoint Pie Mariah-ET, a March 2010 Pie calf from VG-84 Ace Maria, then EX-94 Magic Mary. She was sold by Mike & Linda Hellenbrand (left) and Dale & Stanley Chupp, who now own her outright. Wayne Sliker and Darrel Worden are in the box with Chelsea Holschbach holding the heifer.
