2008 Kentucky National Show & Sale Thursday, April 3 Louisville, Kentucky Show 2 pm ~ Sale 5 pm A large, enthusiastic crowd helped 30 Registered Guernseys average $2,333 and sent animals to 11 states in the 2008 edition of the Kentucky National Show & Sale. The top seller and Grand Champion of the show was Green Ridge Tiller Susie, a fresh Jr. 2-Year-Old with a lovely udder. She sold for $5,000 to George and Kathryn Craft of Sharon Springs, New York. She was consigned by Lee Riggs and Family of Evansville, Indiana Her granddam was EX-90 with 7 lactations totalling 135,000M lifetime. The second-high seller was the Jr. Champion of the show, a summer yearling consigned by Barney Hornback of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She is sired by Hickman Valleys Avenger Sully and out of a Loral dam. Her granddam is VG-80 with six lactations and backed by 3 more VG dams. She was purchased for $4,550 by Roland Dicke and Family of New Bremen, Ohio. The sale was managed by Guernsey Marketing Service and the Kentucky Guernsey Breeders and sponsored by the Kentucky Departent of Agriculture. Lynn Lee was the auctioner, Seth Johnson made the pedigree announcements and Barney Hornback, Brian Hornback and Neil Smith served as ringmen. Jason Robinson and Orion Cattle Services prepared the cattle to perfection. Mike Hickman headed up the sale selection team, which resulted in a uniformly stylish group of calves and a solid bunch of bred heifers. Lot 1 - Showtime x 2 Generations AA Nominees!
