2011 National Guernsey Convention Sale Monday, June 27, 2011 Bond County Fairgrounds, Greenville, Illinois The National Guernsey Convention sale was held on June 27 in Greenville, Illinois. The fancy lineup was appreciated by the large crowd in attendance and averaged $4,586 on 43 live lots and choices while 61 embryos averged $516 each. The second high seller at $12,000 was the 2010 All-American Spring Calf - Moziers Spider Angelique-ET. This daughter of Coulee Crest Luxury Spider-ET is out of a Tiller from a VG-85 granddam. The next dam, scored VG, is a full sister to the dam of Madison Reserve Grand Moziers Lux Anne of Lavon Farms, EX-92. The heifer herself looked stunning all week in the stall and entered the ring with the same grace that won her admirers throughout the show season in 2010. She was purchased by David, May and Jason Henisee of Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania, and consigned by Dr. John Mozier of Louisburg, Kansas. Maplehurst Magicman Bathsheba dominated the showring in Canada for the last two years for her owners Maplehurst Farm of Lynden, Ontario. Her trip south was much anticipated and resulted in an $11,000 sale to Leroy Kipp of Hazel Green, Wisconsin. This huge Sr. 2-Year-Old for 2011 recently scored VG-88 in Canada and is from a VG-88 JB Dam with over 23,000M. The next dam was an EX-90 Royal Winter Fair Grand Champion with 27,000M, followed by an EX-90 Frank and the immortal EX-94 Laeschland TS Biddy cow. Several All-Americans and show winners from both sides of the border have come from thsi family over the past decade. The sale was managed by Guernsey Marketing Service and the Illinois GBA. Kevin Hartmann was the sale chair. Stan Chupp of Oklahoma handled the gavel with Blaine Crosser of Select Sires in Ohio making pedigree announcements. Dale Chupp and Bob Griggs of Oklahoma took bids along with Mark Erdman of Illinois. Maria and Cindy Chupp clerked the sale. Lauren Robison, Austin Knapp, Kim Lakey, Jacob Mohr and Makyla Hickman presented the animals in the ring. Mike Hickman and Chris Reichard headed up the fitting crew.
