65 Female Lots averaged $2,282 in the 2008 Ozark Jubilee Sale on May 17. Beautiful sale-week weather and a late spring in most areas of the country conspired to keep many from seeing the customary impressive lineup of hand-picked consignments. The small, but active-bidding crowd was treated to a complimentary dinner the night before the sale and enjoyed the many activities available in Branson, Missouri.

The top seller was an August '07 heifer consigned by Dix Lee Guernseys of Phillpsburg, Missouri. She was purchased for $5,000 by Faria Farms of Escalon, California. Her sire is Dix Lee Farmer Voodini. Her dam is a VG-87 daughter of Sherma Enhancer Rosie Nitro with a top record over 21,000M and 1,000F. The next dam was a Valiant, followed by an HM Jr. All-American.

Roes Mor Tyler Raisinette, a daughter of Trotacre Enhancer Tyler, was the second-high individual at $4,000. This Jr. 2-Year-Old due in July was consigned by Taylor German of Cushing, Oklahoma. She was purchased by the Fusilier Family of Ville Platte, Louisiana.

Rounding out the top sellers at $3,800 was a lovely-uddered Lorry daughter consigned by Roger Melby of Westby, Wisconsin. Scored VG-83 just fresh, she has more points coming. Her dam completed five lactations with a top record over 19,000M and 900F. She was purchased by Austin and Landen Knapp of Epworth, Iowa.

The sale was managed by the Missouri and Oklahoma Guernsey breeders. Stanley Chupp called the sale with Blaine Crosser making announcements. Dale Chupp and Bob Griggs took bids. Maria and Cindy Chupp clerked the sale. The cattle were prepared by Orion Cattle Services with help from the Missouri Guernsey Youth and students from the Sale Host, The College of The Ozarks.
