The Blue Halter Sale averaged $2,708 on 38 animals on a beautiful spring day in Bedford, Pennsylvania. The top seller was a stunning Summer Yearling heifer consigned by Snider Homestead Farm of New Enterprise, Pennsylvania. She is sired by Sniders Tiller Gitgo. Her maternal line traces back to one of the all-time breed greats, Penn Del Vicuvious Glenna, EX-96. She was purchased by Connor Parker of Colfax, Iowa, for $8,100. The second high seller was the Honroable Mention All-American Winter Calf from 2008. She looked ready to compete at the top level again in 2009. She is sired by Sniders Loral Archie. The Indiana Idiots Syndicate of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, purchased her for $7,500. Rounding out the list of top sellers was the Reserve All-American Spring Calf from 2008. Sired by Sniders Boone Hunter, she is big,strong heifer that is as correct as they come. Gary Estes of Rogersville, Missouri, purchased her for $5,600 from Hadley Palmerton of New York.

Three cows averaged $3,433, Eight bred heifers averaged $2,456 and twenty-seven calves averaged $2,702. Ten embryos averaged $350 each.

The sale was managed by the Pennsylvania Guernsey Breeders' Association. Jim Trotter, Blaine Crosser and Dave Trotter took bids form the large crowd while Dave Smith made pedigree announcements and Mike Weimer served as auctioneer.
