The 2010 Upper MidWest Spring Sale featured an expanded lineup of young heifers and continued the tradition of providing quality Guernsey cows and springing heifers at commercial prices. 62 females averaged $1,444 (3 calves sold with dam). 3 bulls averaged $1,217, 19 bred heifers averaged $1,557, 20 cows averaged $1,323 and 28 open heifers averaged $1,203.

The top seller was aa fancy Skipper daughter due in July carrying an ultrasounded heifer. Adams Creek Skipper Oprah ws consigned by Alyssa & Kate Nuttleman of Bangor, Wisconsin, and purchased by Wes Aiken of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania for $3,700. Her dam was a VG-86 Tiller daughter out of a VG-88 Ace. Then next dam was a VG-87 Magician with nearly 150,000M lifetime. The next three dams were all Excellent with over 1,200F.

The second-high seller also hailed from the Adams Creek herd. She is a Tiller Les daughter from an unscored, but very fancy, Mentor daughter. The next dam was VG-87 with 26,000M followed by a VG-86 Award. The next 5 dams were Excellent and include the EX-95 Andora cow. This October 2010 calf was purchased by Jim Peck of Ohio.

The sale featured 37 animals from the Fair Oaks herd of Bruce, Weldon and Margaret Peterson of Malone, Wisconsin. Their high seller was also the third high of the sale. Fair Oaks Royalty Gay brought a bid of $2,300 from the Fritsche Family of New Ulm, Minnesota. She is a Royalty daughter projected over 16,000M and due back in November. Her dam was an Alstar daughter with over 16,000M.

The sale was managed by Guernsey Marketing Service and Wisconsin GBA. Stan Chupp was the auctioneer while Darrel Clark made pedigree announcements. Vic Voigt, Dale Chupp and Brian Schnebly took bids from the large crowd. The animals were expertly cared for by Jason Robinson, Erica Davis, Tony Galgowski, Alan Moore, Steve Jordan and Kim Lakey.
